Digital Learning and Innovation

Digital learning is the use of digital resources -- computers, tablets, educational applications, the internet, digital cameras, robots, etc. -- for learning. Teachers utilize digital tools for the following purposes:
  • Personalized learning
  • Engagement and exploration
  • Access to information and experiences beyond the classroom walls
  • Data-informed instruction
  • Collaboration
  • Future readiness
District 84 is 1:1 with every student in kindergarten through 8th grade having individual access to a device. Our English language arts, mathematics, and science curricula are blended programs which means students use both traditional and digital resources for learning. Teachers integrate a variety of educational resources such as G-Suite, Freckle, and BrainPOP into their instruction to augment the curriculum and create innovative learning experiences that promote student agency, ignite curiosity, and foster a love of learning.
