Preschool Screening
Preschool for All (PFA) is a state-funded initiative in Illinois designed to offer high-quality preschool to children aged 3-5 (or those not yet eligible for kindergarten). Our program is dedicated to preparing children for school success by fostering essential language, math, and social-emotional skills.
Children are invited to the program through a state-mandated screening process, which helps us identify those with the greatest academic need. We have 100 available seats each year, and we also maintain a waiting list for eligible students.
We're incredibly proud that our District 84 preschool program has earned the ExceleRate Gold Circle of Quality rating for six consecutive years! This achievement truly reflects our team's unwavering commitment to maintaining an outstanding educational experience. We look forward to meeting you and your child!
Screening for Children from Birth to Three Years Old
If you believe your infant or toddler is in need of resources and support, such as speech or physical therapy, these may be provided through the IDHS Early Intervention program. Parents may call 1-800-843-6154, or reach out to a provider using this DHS Office Locator in order to find an office in your area to schedule a screening. If the screening indicates a need for services, parents will be provided with a resource guide of excellent programs within the community.
Screening for Children from Three to Five Years Old
District 84 provides screenings for children between the ages of three to five to determine if they qualify for our Preschool For All program. All three elementary schools are the site of a state-funded Early Childhood Program for students determined to be at risk for academic failure. For more information about this program, please call 847-678-7962 (North and Passow families) or 847-455-7960 (Pietrini families).
Interested parents will need to contact our Parent Facilitator to set up an appointment for their child to go through a screening process to become eligible. Preschool for All is a needs-based program and students will be invited based on their screening eligibility score.
If you are interested in our preschool program, please contact one of our PFA Parent Facilitators:
North and Passow: Mrs. Lizbeth Sanchez [email protected] or 847-678-7962
Pietrini: Mrs. Ema Favela [email protected] or 847 - 455 - 7960
We will then contact you to set up a screening appointment. Thank you, and we look forward to meeting you!
