Due to the extreme temperatures anticipated throughout the day tomorrow, January 16th, Franklin Park School District 84 will be closed. Students will have an e-learning day.
Closing our buildings is not a course of action that we take lightly, knowing the difficulty this potentially creates for our families. However, when weighed against the safety and well being of our students, the decision comes into clearer focus. With expected wind chills in the range of 27-30 degrees below zero, it is simply too dangerous for children to walk to school or wait at a bus stop for any extended period of time.
Morning activities will also be canceled on Wednesday, January 17th, but it is otherwise anticipated that students will return to school for in-person learning the rest of the day on Wednesday.
