Emergency Closing and Late Start Information
In the event schools are closed due to weather or other emergencies, families in Franklin Park School District 84 may receive notice of school closings from the following sources:

If the schools are closed, a special recorded message will be left on the administrative office voicemail system. Please call the District 84 administrative office at 847/455-4230 and "press 4" as soon as you hear the outgoing message on the telephone answering system.
In the event of severe weather or other emergencies that may delay the opening of school at the regular student arrival times, schools in District 84 will operate under a late start schedule. The late start schedule will delay the opening of school by 90 minutes. Students will be dismissed from school at their regular dismissal times on the late start school schedule. A late start bus schedule has also been developed to accommodate students who will need transportation to school on late start school day. Click here to download the late start bus schedule. Parent will be informed of the late start school schedule through the district's automated calling system as soon as the decision has been made to put the late start schedule into effect. The phone calls will be made to the home phone number listed on each child's registration form. Information will also be posted on the District 84 website (www.d84.org) on the Emergency Closing page and at the Emergency Closing website (www.emergencyclosings.com. Local radio and television stations may also broadcast late start school schedule information.
